Every year, I search for ways to combat the craziness of the season and focus on what really matters. As a music therapist, I of course think, what better way than with music? Admittedly, my mood is not improved by radio stations shuffling through the same narrow collection of holiday songs, but there’s so much more out there. My goal as we count down the days is to highlight lesser known songs whose lyrics speak to the true heart of the season. I hope you’ll enjoy.
Our first selection, It Feels Like Christmas, comes from one of my favorite holiday movies, The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992). A lyric excerpt alone can’t possibly convey the charm of this song, and as this is a musical countdown, please enjoy this video clip!
